Abstract

Many unfortunate changes have struck the Las Condes commune in the last decade. In spite of this, there is still an area known as El Golf keeping the characteristics which have identified it since the middle of this century. There is a fresh air filtered bythe trees and gardens which dye streets and avenues in green. There are a few old and noble origin houses which provide the areawith a human scale and high rank archítectural and urban quality. Many of these houses have found their salvation from bulldozers in an area of merciless progrese due lo a sudden turn of their destiny: they belong to foreign embassies. The nobility of their architecture is enhanced by their remarkable preservation. It is clear that the embassies have kept them intact. It is now time for the community to support these actions.
