Abstract

International studies have developed with considerable delay in Latin America and, in general, have paid little attention to their theoretical aspects. This, in turn, helps to explain this delay. The neglect of theory in the field of international studies has allowed interpretive visions to freeze in time that, despite the prestige that their place of "classics" gives them, have ceased to provide a correct description of contemporary international reality, limiting drastically the predictive capacity of these studies and their usefulness for the formulation of adequate foreign policies. This edition of International Studies seeks to help fill that gap.
