Los estudios internacionales en América Latina : algunas contribuciones

Abstract

The study of international relations, as an academic discipline, has had little development in Latin America within the realm of the social sciences. Against this background, some of the advances and features that the development of the discipline has registered in recent years are examined from the point of view of the contributions made by the Journal of International Studies. That is, delimiting its field of study, highlighting its relevance in a period in which it is possible to perceive with greater clarity the fact that the development of Latin American countries has been accompanied by a growing integration and interdependence in the international system and Third, to provide elements of judgment to choose between the various approaches with which it is possible to work in this field, testing those that would seem to be more appropriate to the needs of the Latin American reality.
