DESIGN NO LIMITE. ATELIÊ COLABORATIVO SOBRE ULUS MEYDANI EM ANCARA, TURQUIA

Este ensaio explora as estratégias de conceção arquitetónica e urbana para a revitalização de espaços abertos não formalizados no contexto histórico das antigas cidades otomanas, centrando-se no bairro central de Ulus, em Ancara, na Turquia. Ulus Meydanı serviu de campo de teste para uma metodologia de ateliê colaborativo conduzida com alunos do terceiro ano do Departamento de [anónimo]. Ao examinar os esforços do estúdio de design para integrar várias linguagens arquitectónicas no contexto eclético/histórico de Ancara, este artigo destaca as complexidades e oportunidades de transformar Ulus Meydanı num "vazio ativo". A metodologia adoptada procura reimaginar estes espaços abertos através de uma compreensão matizada da análise espacial, partindo de três posições teóricas: privilegiar a multiplicidade em detrimento de soluções homogéneas; conceber espaços públicos como limiares urbanos; favorecer o otium em detrimento de programas funcionais complexos. Através de uma documentação detalhada do ateliê de design, este estudo oferece uma visão do potencial da futura educação e prática arquitetónica para navegar no delicado equilíbrio entre preservação e modernização em espaços públicos não formalizados.
