Recurv(e)sive : la arquitectura como dispositivo de memoria

Recurv(e)sive is a research through design. The city, as a construct has integrated into its development certain similarities to living things but on a large scale. These similarities are mainly related to growth rules and behaviors through action of the generated structures and forms that can only be understood over the years. The design project using this framework as a tool to be tested in a case study, starting with the leading digital test specimens to a real case, exemplified in the city of Valparaiso, where spaces between hills can be colonized by these micro structures, proposing a new type of construction compatible with existing complexity. This includes a new meaning to the areas disturbed as a possible generative folies cityscape, built from the hidden information of the urban fabric.
