Abstract
The XXV Años de Paz polygon in Valladolid, built in 1964, was at the time an example of the high quality housing developments carried out by the Franco regime. Recently, as part of an operation to regenerate the area, the old recreational centre of the industrial estate has been recovered as a new youth space, in a radical intervention on the building that has created a centre of attraction for the youth of the entire area. North of the city. The approach to the rehabilitation of the centre aims to promote the use of the building as a social catalyst for the neighborhood: on the one hand, it is spatially conceived as an urban sphere of relationships, as an extension of the free space of the sector in which it is inserted, and on the other hand, the intervention in the epidermis of the building seeks the idea of configuring a building frame that can be a support for the creative production of the users of the Youth Space.
