El hogar como elemento de la arquitectura: una historia de sus desplazamientos

Resumen
Para la convocatoria Arquitectura y comunidad, se presenta aquí una revisión del hogar como elemento fundamental de la arquitectura, así como de los cambios y desplazamientos que ha sufrido en su larga historia. En el tratado de Vitruvio, un fuego colectivo es el origen de la arquitectura y su razón de ser. Sin embargo, para Leon Battista Alberti el origen de la arquitectura, y también su elemento principal, es más bien la división o la partición. Desde entonces se puede ver un cierto retiro del hogar o, por lo menos, un retiro de la parte social que se alberga en su sentido original. A partir de la teoría de Gottfried Semper en el siglo XIX, se puede observar un resurgimiento de este elemento y de su sentido social, que se intenta rastrear en proyectos e imágenes de la arquitectura moderna.
