Abstract

The colonization process through sheep herding in Magallanes, which started in the decade of 1880, gave rise to an notable industrial development which brought in the process a new architectural expression unknown until then in Chile. This paper is a preliminary report of a broader scope reserach work that deals with the rural industrial architecture of this región.
