Abstract

Architect Joaquín Toesca Ricci's presence and work in Chile can only be understood linked to the deep reforms which enriched Spain's cultural heritage, as well as its territorial posessions in America, since the rise of the Borbons. The scarse evidence available suggests that any approach to his work must be done through the understanding of Toesca's experience in other contexts such as for example his urban work while living in Madrid.
