DES–ARMAR. Rescate patrimonial a partir de un sistema de piezas y componentes

The fachwerk construction system stood out because of the development achieved by the assembly carpenters in the south of Chile. These artisans used the technique as a manifestation of their culture, expressing a way of being and being in the territory, through their trade. Unfortunately, at the moment, this construction system is discontinued and devalued, a situation that positions the trade that gave support to this technical proposal, at risk of imminent disappearance. The possible loss of this heritage makes it necessary to generate proposals that allow its conservation. The project allows for the comprehension of the assembly method from collecting pieces and components to understand the craftsman “making”, rescuing structural logics, through the creation of a prototyping process that will make it possible to inhabit the territory of the Chiloé Archipelago from the technique. Consequently, the Chonchi Theater project is finally developed, where the building is the testimony.
